Clay Summer Art Camp - Morning Session

Get your hands in the clay! 🏺🔥 Join us for HOTplate's most beloved camp, where kids aged 6–12 dive into the exciting world of pottery and clay art. Over three immersive mornings, they'll experience the joy of creating their very own pieces!

Camp Highlights:

• Day 1 — Wheel Throwing Introduction:
  Every camper gets hands-on experience with the pottery wheel! Guided by our instructor, they'll master techniques like centering and pulling walls to create a unique piece. One wheel piece will be selected for kiln firing, ready for pickup in about 2–2.5 weeks.

• Day 2 — Hand Building Fundamentals:
  Explore hand-building techniques such as coil building and slab construction. Create functional pieces like bowls or cups that will also be kiln-fired and glazed, ready for pickup in 2–2.5 weeks.

• Day 3 — Glaze & Surface Decoration:
  The finishing touch! Campers will learn about surface decoration and glazing techniques, plus work on a second smaller project to complete their Clay Camp collection.

• 📅 Dates: Tuesday–Thursday, August 18–20
• ⏰ Time: 9:00 am–12:00 pm daily
• 💰 Cost: $165 per camper; $145 for each additional sibling (all supplies included!)
• 📍 Location: HOTplate Pottery & Clayworks, 130 W Washington St, Marquette
