🌟 Join us for an exciting workshop where creativity meets community! In this session, we’ll explore the art of creating and performing our own postcard-sized text and graphic scores!
📬 Think postcards as vessels for sound and meaning. We’ll dive into how we can craft music suitable for all voices, fostering an engaging discussion around themes like listening, language, movement, and migration. These concepts emerge from Richy Carey’s research residency at the IAC.
🎼 Together, we will review postcard scores by notable composers such as Pauline Oliveros, James Tenney, and Richy Carey himself. Then, it's your turn! We’ll create our own scores and perform them, allowing space for indeterminacy, improvisation, and play—essential elements in nurturing a non-hierarchical, polyvocal future.
⭐ This workshop is part of Richy's ongoing work during his IASPIS residency in Malmö, titled "Other Tongues," and will contribute to a collection of new scores for publication and a corresponding multichannel sound installation.
✨ All voices are welcome—no previous singing experience required! 🌈
