Releasing Into Movement | A Playful Somatic Dance Class Series with Tuva Hildebrand

For all levels of experience, regardless of background and ability!

Join us for an enchanting series of classes where playful, poetic imagery and gentle touch will guide you into a state of presence and dynamic movement. This nurturing atmosphere combines guided imagery with partner exercises, all set to a variety of musical landscapes that encourage movement in a safe and comfortable environment.

Through poetic imagery, specific movement pathways, and improvisation, we'll work to release tension, discover new ways to express ourselves, cultivate effortless strength, and tap into boundless creativity.

Classes draw inspiration from the Skinner Releasing Technique (SRT) and Open Source Forms (OSF), intertwined with Tuva Hildebrand’s extensive experience in dance and somatic practices.

Emslie, M.A., author of Skinner Releasing Technique: a movement and dance practice, describes SRT as a somatic approach focused on unblocking energy and releasing tension. OSF further expands on these principles.

In addition to bodywork and expressive imagery, you will explore specific movement patterns that enhance ease, strength, and coordination. Each session allows time for improvisation, inviting you to explore your unique rhythm and physical expression. At the end of each class, there will be a space for reflection through drawing and writing.

Meet Your Teacher
Tuva Hildebrand is a choreographer, performer, and somatic practitioner deeply rooted in improvisational and release-based techniques. Having spent years training extensively, including with somatic dance pioneers, Tuva creates an inclusive space that fosters deep listening, tension release, and the exploration of the body’s innate intelligence.

In her recent MFA research in Gothenburg, she critically examined SRT through a socio-political lens, exploring themes such as radical care and ecological thought.

Tuva encourages an atmosphere where movement flows naturally, emphasizing the importance of listening and letting go.
