10 YEARS DAFA THEATER

Join us in commemorating a decade of creativity and collaboration at Dafa Theater! Over the years, this remarkable company has brought to life socially engaged performances that blend devised, physical, and object/puppet theater.

Founded by the talented Palestinian-Jordanian director and puppeteer Husam Abed alongside Hungarian stage designer Reka Deak, Dafa explores profound themes such as power, responsibility, and the human experience through innovative storytelling. From moving solo performances to impactful international collaborations, Dafa establishes theater as a vibrant shared space—one where we can step outside reality and envision new possibilities together.

Throughout the last ten years, Dafa has:

• Created original performances and short films
• Toured internationally
• Conducted workshops, residencies, and theater labs for children, youth, and adults
• Launched long-term educational and artistic initiatives, including:
  • Ya Khayal Theatre Lab for youth (Amman)
  • Academy of Actors for Civic Change / Artivism (Budapest)
  • LIV’in Festival (Prague)

Highlighted works, such as Smooth Life and War Maker, have extended beyond the stage, sparking discussions in academic circles, including Political Science programs at Sciences Po in France.

This April, we are especially excited to showcase our journey with Klub Letka—a collaboration built on trust and a shared passion for theater. 🌟
