
"As You Like It" FREE Shakespeare in the Park
Join us for a FREE ADMISSION family-friendly event featuring a delightful 90-minute comedy play!
✨ Event Highlights:
- Seating begins at 4 PM: Bring your chairs, blankets, and a picnic, or purchase delicious snacks from our vendors!
- Performance by Goodly Creatures Theatre: Experience Shakespeare's tales brought to life!
- Food Vendors: Enjoy sandwiches, water, and ice cream from Graham’s and Stockholm’s.
- Picnic Contest: Get creative! A contest for the most elaborate picnic will be held at 5:30 PM (please have your picnics set up by 5:15 PM).
🎭 About the Play:
Shakespeare’s "As You Like It" explores themes of love and identity as cousins Rosalind and Celia escape to the Forest of Arden. Disguised as the young man Ganymede, Rosalind navigates her budding feelings for Orlando, who is also fleeing his own troubles. Will love prevail amidst disguise and deception?
🚗 Parking Information:
Parking is available at the Kane County Government Center, 719 Batavia Ave., and at the Metro commuter lot just north of the government center. Follow the trail north and cross the bridge over the Fox River to reach Island Park. Additional parking is available in downtown Geneva public lots.
