Augmented Reality (AR) Walking Tour: Future Arts Way *Pioneer Square*
About Future Arts Way: OTHER EARTH 2026
Future Arts Way is a public augmented reality trail that spans four Seattle neighborhoods: Belltown, Central Downtown, the Waterfront, and Pioneer Square, stretching from the Pacific Science Center to King Street Station. Developed by Future Arts, this trail integrates original AR artworks by local and regional artists into the city's landscape, transforming storefronts, sidewalks, and public spaces into immersive digital experiences rooted in Indigenous knowledge, community histories, and visions of the future. No gallery required—just your phone, your feet, and the street!
What Happens on the Tour
Your guide will lead a small group along the trail, stopping at each AR drop to launch the artwork together and share the story behind it, including details about the artist, the location, and its significance. Some artworks are expansive and immersive, while others are intimate and surprising. All respond to your surroundings, fostering conversation, curiosity, and moments that will captivate you.
