Band saw: basic use and safety

Band saw: basic use and safety

Om evenemanget

Details
This course is exclusively for paying Bitraf members. If you're not a member yet, please sign up for membership at Bitraf Membership before attending the course.

Band saws are perfect for cutting curves and intricate shapes in wood. They can also be used for ripping lumber to size, resawing, and cutting joints. However, using a band saw can be dangerous, so completing a band saw course at Bitraf is mandatory before operating the machinery. While band saws are generally safer than table saws, any machine with a moving blade must be treated with caution. Band saws generate noise during operation, and their blades can be just as dangerous as those of spinning table saws, albeit with a lower risk of kickback. This course will teach you how to use the band saw safely.

For more information, you can find Norwegian documentation for the band saw here: Norsk wiki and English wiki.
