Band saws are perfect for creating curves and intricate shapes in wood, as well as for ripping lumber to size, resawing, and making joints. Since using a band saw can present risks, completing this course at Bitraf is mandatory before you operate the machinery.
While band saws are typically safer than table saws, it’s essential to approach any machine with a moving blade with caution. These machines can produce noise during cutting, and their blades are just as dangerous, albeit with a lower risk of kickback compared to table saws. You will learn how to operate the band saw safely in this course.

ℹ️ Important Information:
• Courses often fill up quickly. If you can't attend after signing up, please RSVP 'no' as soon as possible, so someone else can fill your spot.
• The course starts promptly at 16:00 in the wood workshop. Feel free to arrive early for coffee before the session. Make sure to be on time; late arrivals may miss critical information needed for certification to use the machines.
• Due to high operational costs for the equipment at Bitraf, only paying members may attend this course. Join Bitraf at Join Bitraf before signing up.
• The course will begin with a group theory presentation, followed by practical training. Once completed, you will be added to the 'TOOLS' access system, allowing you to use the band saw.
