Join us for an enchanting evening dedicated to the collective singing of mantras – kirtan. Together, we'll take a moment to pause and connect with ourselves and each other through voice, breath, and vibration. Expect a beautifully structured kirtan in the spirit of call & response, gentle movements at the start, and a soothing sound bath to conclude.
Kirtan is welcoming to all – no prior singing experience is required! Your voice will be a tool for connection, release, and meditation, not performance. Just come as you are, and let yourself flow with the rhythm, melody, and shared energy within the group.
✳︎ What is Bhakti Yoga? ✳︎
Bhakti Yoga is the yoga of the heart – a path filled with love, gratitude, and a connection to life itself. In the Yoga Sutras, bhakti is described as pure, unconditional love that fosters inner freedom and peace. It’s not solely about belief but a state of openness, trust, and unity with all living beings. This practice reminds us to live life fully, with open hearts.
✳︎ What is Kirtan? ✳︎
Kirtan is one of the main expressions of bhakti, incorporating the chanting of mantras. Mantras are simple syllables or short verses, often in Sanskrit, whose repetition draws attention back to the present moment. They calm the mind, enhance focus, and help release tension. It’s not about knowing how to sing or understanding every word, but about allowing the sound and vibration to resonate. Just breathe, listen, and let the music and voices guide you. When we sing together, boundaries dissolve, and the atmosphere fills with peace, joy, and a sense of belonging.
🌟 “Chanting is an opening of the heart and letting go of the mind.” — Krishna Das 🌟
