Celebrating Gustavo at the Bowl: Beethoven 9

Om evenemanget

Join us for a magnificent evening at the Hollywood Bowl as we celebrate the remarkable legacy of Gustavo Dudamel, the LA Phil Music & Artistic Director! 🌟

For 17 transformative years, Dudamel has redefined classical music, championing a diverse range of genres. Now, he takes the stage to conduct Beethoven's iconic Ninth Symphony, a radiant testament to freedom, peace, and unity, featuring the uplifting "Ode to Joy." As Dudamel believes, "We have to believe in the text. 'Freude, Freude!' (Joy, joy!)... We must end by embracing each other!" 🎉✨

The night opens with a world premiere by the acclaimed Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino, known for his work on Disney classics like Coco, Up, and Ratatouille. His new orchestral piece will feature a children’s choir singing stirring lyrics penned by Amanda Gorman, the first poet to perform at the Super Bowl and the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history. 🌍
