Farhad Khosravi at McDougall Landing Backyard (Sun 19 July, 7-8pm)
Join us for a serene evening of music with Farhad Khosravi on the Iranian santur, accompanied by Daniel Stadnicki on percussion! ☀️ This event will take place in the tranquil backyard of musician Stephen Stone.
Farhad Khosravi, an Edmonton-based composer and acclaimed santur player from Iran, is the winner of the 2020 Edmonton Music Prize for his album Mosàfer, which beautifully translates Persian poetry into instrumental sound. 🎼 His artistry has graced numerous venues and festivals across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and BC.
Daniel Akira Stadnicki, a talented drummer and ethnomusicologist, will enrich the performance with his dynamic percussion skills. He also teaches at MacEwan University and has an extensive literary portfolio in music education.
This event is a special community gathering aimed at fostering connections among neighbors and friends, echoing the successful outdoor performances that took place during the cooler months of 2020. 🌼 The concert is free to attend, but donations are wholeheartedly welcomed! If you enjoy the performance, consider that a coffee might cost $5 or a band at a bar about $20.
