🔨 Advanced Woodworking Workshop

Join us for an eleven-day workshop designed for individuals who have completed our introductory woodwork courses or have proficient woodworking skills. Led by the talented carpenter and furniture maker Ruth Thomson, this course will guide you through managing a personal project from inception to completion.

What You’ll Learn:

• Project Management: Sketching your design, creating technical drawings, writing cutting lists, and managing costs.
• Material Selection: A field trip to a timber yard to understand how to choose softwoods effectively.
• Tool Mastery: Gain hands-on experience with tools like routers, biscuit jointers, jigsaws, and more. Learn to make jigs for creating accurate shapes.
• Workshop Techniques: Use basic machines, including bandsaws and belt sanders, alongside traditional hand tools.
• Finishing Touches: Learn how to sand, glue, and finish your wooden furniture to achieve a professional quality.

Materials are to be purchased by each learner. We can accept delivered timber, while MDF is not allowed due to dust handling requirements. Solid timber and plywood will be pre-machined for your convenience.
