Join Our Follow-On Woodwork Course! 🎉

Designed for those who have completed one of our longer woodwork courses or possess confident woodwork skills, this 11-day workshop offers a fantastic opportunity to bring your individual project to life!

Led by the talented Ruth Thomson, an experienced carpenter/joiner/furniture maker, you’ll gain hands-on experience in managing your own practical project from start to finish:

• Sketch your ideas and make a technical drawing
• Create a precise cutting list and budget
• Learn to select the right lengths of softwood during a visit to a timber yard
• Master the safe use of various power tools including routers and biscuit jointers
• Create accurate shapes with custom jigs
• Operate basic workshop machinery like bandsaws and belt sanders, along with classic hand tools
• Finish your piece through sanding, gluing, and other techniques

Whether you already have a project in mind or need guidance, we’re here to help! Please note that there are size limitations due to time constraints and storage.

Materials:

• Each participant is responsible for their own materials.
• We can accept delivery of timber if sourced externally.
• Note: MDF cannot be used in our workshop due to dust regulations; please opt for plywood or solid timber instead, which will be pre-machined on our tools.
