Going Solo with Purpose: Designing a career that supports the life you want

Working independently gives you the opportunity to build a career on your own terms, but sometimes it can feel difficult to stay connected to your purpose and direction. Join our own Sara Gonzalez and Valeria Conti, who will guide you through an interactive workshop designed to support freelancers, independent creatives and small studio owners in building a career that feels more aligned with their values. Together, we’ll explore practical tools and exercises to help you navigate your solo journey with intention and build a more sustainable career. It’s a space for honest reflection and a first step towards defining your idea of success, attracting the kind of work you like doing and building a happier future.
Whether you are just starting out or are an experienced designer unsure of your direction, this workshop will help you reconnect with what really matters to you.

Sara Gonzalez
Sara Gonzalez (@bypandorastudio) is a senior brand designer with over a decade of experience in conceptualisation and brand development. She has worked with agencies and clients across Barcelona, Madrid, and London, collaborating with brands such as Adobe, FIFA, and L’Oréal. She is now the founder of Pandora Studio®, where she leads thoughtful, strategy-driven creative projects. Alongside her studio practice, she is also a mentor at UAL and co-host at LWD.
Valeria Conti
Valeria is an independent Designer and Art Director. After eight years working for agencies and in-house across a wide range of industries, she started her own practice in 2021, merging her design expertise with her passion for art in all its forms. Now she specialises in the arts, culture, publishing and fashion sectors, working on a range of projects, including editorial design, visual identities and art direction. She approaches each project in a unique way, creating distinctive and thoughtful designs. Valeria is dedicated to supporting the creative community and empowering the next generation of creatives. For the past four years, she has been a chapter leader at Ladies, Wine & Design London. She also collaborates regularly with UAL as an Associate Lecturer and Specialist Technician at LCF and as a mentor at LCC.
