About the Event:

August's monthly theme is REWILDING and its intersection with the climate crisis. Join us for our LEARN night on the second Tuesday of the month!

Our featured guests include Chikundi Salisbury, founder of the Youth Green Corps at Seattle Parks and Rec, and Rebeca Bonilla-Meyers, site & program director at Beacon Food Forest.

Schedule:

• 6:30 PM: Arrive and settle in!
• 6:00-7:00 PM: Dinner + chat time 🍽️
• 7:00-8:00 PM: Expert Q&A with conversational breakouts 💬
• 8:00-9:00 PM: Choose-your-own-adventure peer learning 🌱

Soapbox Seattle is the city's most joyful community space for climate action, gathering EVERY TUESDAY at the same time and place (climate church?? lol).

This event is all ages! Kids are welcome as long as they can be respectfully quiet during the Q&A portions. We love kids and have plenty of supplies for them.

A plant-based dinner is always included, prepared with love from local and regenerative farmers.

You don’t need to be "a climate person" to join; just bring your excitement to meet others who care about the earth and each other! 🌍❤️ No experience is required!

There will be activities and programming, so this is not just another networking event where you pretend to be on your phone.

Pricing:
All our events are sliding scale. If the listed options don’t work for you, you can request a reparative ticket. It costs us ~$35 per person to put on, so please contribute what you can.

• Chikundi Salisbury: Founder of The Youth Green Corps, a partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation that educates and trains young adults in forest restoration and green jobs.
• Rebeca Bonilla-Meyers: Site and program manager at Beacon Food Forest, a grassroots project transforming a 7-acre plot into a diverse ecosystem providing fresh, healthy food to the community.
