Hello Discoverers!

This exploration will take us across the forested hills of the Hřebeny Natural Park to a tramping settlement with a poetic name The Valley of Stars (Údolí hvězd in Czech).

It was originally established in 1920’s by city folk looking for a weekend getaway. It has since become a part of Prague but preserved a nostalgic charm of good old times.

Nearby is Kazín, a rocky promontory above the river, on which, according to old Czech legends, the castle of mythical princess Kazi once stood.

We will start our hike in Zbraslav in the very south of Prague. Zbraslav has rich history and was once a burial place of medieval Czech kings.

The route is partially still within the Prague city limits yet with 200 meters of vertical gain and some uneven and rocky forest trails this will be more a hike than a walk!

LUNCH AND RIVER SWIMMING
The hike will end around 13:30 at the local pub called "Tornádo" (traditional Czech food, great pickled cheese for vegetarians, fries for vegans) right by the beach on the Berounka.

Bring swim wear!

After we had enough fun by the river, a further 20 min walk will bring us to the Černošice train station with frequent trains to Prague Smíchov and Prague Main Station (train fare is not included, see below).

DIFFICULTY: Medium
11km/7 miles mostly on unpaved trails. Some 200 meters/400 ft of vertical gain. A steep descent from the Kopanina hill.

MEETING POINT
We will meet at 9:40 at the Main Train Station (the usual spot on the lower ground floor in front of the ticket office – PHOTO).
If you can not find us call me at +420 739 370 212.
Don’t be late, our train leaves at 9:55!
