Join us for an immersive tour of the OPEN PLAY exhibition, led by Hothouse and the featured artists!

OPEN PLAY pushes the boundaries of traditional performance by creating an integrated sensory experience that intertwines light, sound, and code. This captivating exhibition showcases the sonic and visual creations of three talented musicians — Hidemen, Houg, and goneMUNE — in a reactive environment designed by Alina Ling and NONFORM.

About the Artists:

• Alina Ling: A pioneer in interactive design, Alina explores sensory perception through innovative interfaces and installations, bringing a deeper understanding of spatial constructs to life.
• NONFORM: This artistic collective specializes in music composition, sound design, multimedia art, and video production, creating dynamic pieces that resonate on numerous sensory levels.
• Hidemen: Formed by friends with a passion for music, this group blends hip-hop with unique sounds, pushing genre boundaries for a distinct auditory experience.
• Houg: Singaporean artist Sameh Wahba, known for his work in chillwave and trip-hop, creates lush soundscapes that merge elements of jazz and rock.
• goneMUNE: A dark experimental musician known for evocative storytelling, goneMUNE fuses retro synthwave with a futuristic twist, enhancing their performances with movement.

About the Programme:

Misbehaving Machines invites everyone to delve into the way machines exhibit behavior—through movement, sound, and code—through various lectures, listening sessions, and workshops. This series fosters curiosity and collective learning, examining the evolving relationship between humans and machines through the lens of art and technology.

This programme is presented by Hothouse and supported by the National Arts Council's Arts x Tech Lab initiative.
