A solo street performance straddling the line between theatre and a happening. A theatrical performance that will have everyone on their feet, literally drawing you into the action.

King Demokar I is dead!<br>
Yet the throne cannot remain empty.<br>
And so perhaps the new king will be:<br>
Clad in a cloak of stars and crowned by the silence of the mountains.<br>
He will have eyes that see into the hearts of his people.<br>
A gaze that shatters rocks – but never hearts. <br>
His voice will be like thunder, and his words like bolts of justice.<br>
His heart will not be made of steel, but of bread and salt.<br>
His wisdom will not come from books, but will be etched upon his face by wind and time, and upon his palms by both sword and plough.<br>
A shepherd who leads his flock in the right direction, who prays for them at night.<br>

When he walks – the earth breathes a sigh of relief.<br>
When he is silent – the heavens listen.<br>
When he loves – the whole nation comes to life.<br>

Not a god, not a saviour, nor an angel, but a man who knows that the crown is a cross.

Will there be a suitable candidate amongst us, a brave soul who will take this responsibility into their own hands and bring a prosperous future to our kingdom?

The MONARCHIOT project was launched with the aim of connecting regional communities across the Czech Republic and seeking partners outside the cultural hub of Prague. Cultural organisations from the Nová síť regional network joined the project, becoming part of the cycling residency – the so-called northern and southern routes.

The cycling residency tour, which took place between 2025 and 2026 and covered several hundred kilometres, served not only to forge personal connections but also to draw inspiration from the local culture and environment. The cycle journey was not merely a logistical means of transport, but became a distinct artistic layer of the project – it allowed for a slowing down of the creative process, a sensitive perception of the surroundings, and the integration of movement into the performative concept, leading to the unconventional creation of the production MONARCHIOT.
