Ok So Tulsa Story Slam - Theme: "KARMA"

Join us for Tulsa's Monthly Story Slam centered around the theme of KARMA! 🎤✨
Location: Living Arts (ages 18+)
Entry Fee: $10 cover 🎟️

Each month, we gather to hear everyone share TRUE stories that can be funny, serious, sad, harrowing, or interesting—all related to the month’s theme. This time KARMA takes center stage. Don’t hesitate! Come and put your name in the hat!

How Does a Story Slam Work?

The audience is invited to participate and share personal stories related to the evening's theme. Here's how it works:

• Anyone who wants to tell a story can enter.
• 10 names are randomly drawn, and each storyteller has 5 minutes to share their tale.
• Audience members act as 'judges' and score each storyteller on a 10-point scale.
• The highest scorer wins a cash prize of $50 and an invitation to the yearly Grand Slam in Spring 2027! 💰🏆

Storytelling Tips:

• Stories are TOLD not read; practice aloud to remember your tale! 📖❌
• Keep it TRUE and from your own perspective.
• Stick to the 5 MINUTE LIMIT. Time your practice runs! ⏳
• Ensure a balance; if it’s sad, add some humor. If it's funny, inject some poignancy.
• No stand-up routines, poems, rants, or essays. Just real, meaningful stories!
• Reflect on what your story means to you—what did you learn?
• Arrive early to put your name in the hat; if there are more than 10 storytellers, you may have to pitch your story quickly. 🎤📝
