Om evenemanget

On the first evening of the Dancetopia festival, visitors are invited through performances and communal gatherings to a space where routine, imagination, and encounter intertwine.

The program opens with the performance Ergopermaperformance by Pavel Matela (Permaperformer). In response to his immediate surroundings, its tools, sounds, and atmospheric conditions, the performer carries out routine work activities with conscious physical effort. Movement and sound intertwine as a radio broadcast featuring a recorded composition or spoken word weaves into the action. Audiences are invited to witness and, at times, gently enter this evolving workspace, where the boundaries between performance, task, and participation remain fluid.

The evening continues with the performance Bodies That Do Not Hold (work in progress) by Lucie Vrbíková. Set against a landscape of asphalt, this work brings us into contact with hybrid bodies grappling with loneliness, frustration, and breakdown as they seek forms of belonging. Through bodily perception, openness, and intertwined relationships with superhuman entities, they seek ways to share, co-inhabit, and collectively imagine the world differently.

Following the performances, visitors are cordially invited to a welcome dinner, an informal gathering with other participants, artists, and festival guests. This first shared moment offers a space for networking, exchanging ideas, and tuning into the rhythm of Dancetopia together.
