Back in 1995, Los Angeles witnessed the launch of one of the first major burlesque revivals: The Velvet Hammer, created by Michelle Carr. This iconic production rapidly grew into a cult sensation, kickstarting the careers of legendary performers like Dirty Martini and Kitten DeVille. Although the show concluded in 2006, its influence has inspired burlesque scenes worldwide, paving the way for the creation of Prague Burlesque.

Now, nearly 30 years later, we pay tribute to this pivotal moment in burlesque history with an electrifying new show! 🎉

Sonny Vargas, the founder, describes The Velvet Hammer as not only a nostalgic homage but also as an intersexual symbol—a powerful blend of raw energy and velvet sensuality.
