RRFF Thursday Evening Fly Casting Clinics

Join us to Learn to Fly Cast or enhance your skills with hands-on instruction and practice! Our RRFF Thursday Evening Fly Casting Clinics take place every Thursday evening during Daylight Savings Time from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM (weather permitting). This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Please note, we do not practice fly casting in the rain.

Our dedicated RRFF volunteer instructors are here to guide you from the basics to advanced techniques, including:

• Knot tying
• Fly tackle and gear questions
• Fly selection and tying
• Techniques for various fish species (freshwater and saltwater)

For those ready to elevate their skills, learn advanced techniques such as the double-haul, shooting heads, and spey casting. Don’t let the challenges of learning fly casting hold you back—our experienced instructors can help demystify the process.

We follow the instructional techniques of Fly Fishers International (FFI) and the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club (GGACC), utilizing their Fly Casting Skills Development (FCSD) Program across various skill levels.

Improving your fly casting is a lifelong journey that requires practice to master the 'feel' of casting. There are endless opportunities to learn new techniques and discover new fishing spots. We're excited to be part of your rewarding journey!
