Join us for a full day of creativity as we delve into the art of proggy mats (also known as clippy, hooky mats, or rag rugs). These traditional crafts, rooted in a value-driven 'make do and mend' philosophy, emerged during the 19th and early 20th centuries as a practical solution for cold floors and as a way to reimagine unusable materials.
In today’s workshop, you’ll breathe new life into scraps and fabric remnants, crafting a unique piece of art guided by Ceri’s expertise. You’ll learn to use everyday items as tools, eliminating the need for specialized equipment. Your finished piece will be perfect for hanging in your home! 🏡
A picnic-style lunch is included, featuring sandwiches, crisps, and cold drinks, courtesy of Field & Fodder. Enjoy additional refreshments available for purchase, including cakes, scones, and hot drinks from the on-site café. 🍰☕
Participants are encouraged to bring along any old clothing or sentimental items to incorporate into their designs. This workshop welcomes all skill levels and is suitable for adults and children aged 10 and above (children must be accompanied by a paying adult).
