Strašnické artdeco: Fenomén zahradního města
🌳 Join us on a journey back to the early 20th century!
Explore the first villas in the formerly agricultural district of Strašnice. We'll revisit the 1990s with the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, designed by Jindřich Synek, and delve into its architectural style and interior.
🏡 Discover Masaryk’s Colony, the only joint project by Josef Gočár and Pavel Janák, and the Rondocubist ‘Colony of Freedom’ by the Svépomoc cooperative, designed by František Albert Libra.
🚂 In the Locomotive Drivers’ Colony, designed by architects Václav Gail and Alois Šťastný, we’ll recall the form of the once-popular garden cities and uncover how such villa developments came into being.
