The Future of Outpatients 2026: From Vision to Delivery
A focused in-person event on transforming outpatient care.
On 5 May 2026, 4pm to 7pm, senior NHS leaders will come together at Accurx offices in London to explore how outpatient transformation can move from strategy into delivery. The event is designed for NHS trust executives, clinical leaders, operational leads, and ICB and national stakeholders.
Following Accurx and the Cambridge Health Network’s 2025 event on the Future of Outpatients, this session will focus on what has changed over the last year, what is now working in practice, and how organisations can begin to make meaningful progress. The central theme is the shift from an appointment-first model to a triage-first model that better reflects patient need, clinical reality and system capacity.
The session will cover:
the national direction of outpatient reform
what secondary care can learn from general practice about triage-first access
how a triage-first outpatient model works in practice
practical lessons from trust-level implementation
opportunities to take part in the next phase of transformation
Featured speakers currently proposed include Mark Cubbon (NHSE) and Neil Ashman (The Royal London Hospital), alongside a GP speaker from a leading Total Triage practice and the Accurx team.
This will be a focused event for leaders who want to help shape the next phase of outpatient transformation across the NHS.
