Tonyaa Weathersbee is a proud Jacksonville native and a multi-award-winning columnist with a rich history at The Florida Times-Union and The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, TN. She is currently the Hardin Chair of Excellence in Journalism at the University of Memphis. Tonyaa has extensively traveled to Cuba, focusing on the implications of the U.S. embargo on the island nation. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism, a master's degree in mass communication, and a master's certificate in Latin American Studies — all from the University of Florida.
