Third Annual Orlando Chess Open

Join us for the Third Annual Orlando Chess Open organized by the Orlando Regional Chess Alliance (ORCA)! 📅 This exciting tournament will take place at the Doctor Phillips Academic Commons building, located at 528 W. Livingston Street, Orlando.

Event Highlights:

• Date: Saturday, August 8th, 2026
• Check-in: 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM
• First Round: Begins at 9:45 AM
• Format: Five round Swiss tournament with a 30-minute game time and a 5-second delay.
• Lunch Break: After Round 2 🍴
• Awards Ceremony: After Round 5 🏆

Sections:

1. Open USCF Rated - $60
2. U1600 USCF Rated - $50
3. Open Non-Rated - $30
4. Scholastic U1400 USCF Rated - $30
5. Scholastic U600 USCF Rated - $30

In-Person Registration: Available at the door until 9:15 AM for an additional $10 per section, space permitting.

  • 1st: $350
  • 2nd: $200
  • 3rd: $130
• U1600 Section Cash Prizes:
  • 1st: $300
  • 2nd: $150
  • 3rd: $110

Important Information:

• All players must have a valid USCF membership for rated sections.
• Early bird discounts are available: $10 until July 8th, $5 until July 31st.
• Cancellations incur a $5 processing fee; cancellations within 1 day may forfeit the entry fee.
• Chess sets and clocks will be provided for all participants.
• Electronic devices: No cellphones, smart watches, or devices capable of chess analysis during play without permission.
