Traditional Finnish Sauna Healing
Join Nanna Bayer, the "Sauna Queen of Tasmania", in a unique healing experience that combines the essence of traditional Finnish sauna practices, which date back 8,000 - 10,000 years. In this intimate group session, Nanna will immerse you in the soothing environment of the sauna using:
- An abundance of herbs and plants 🌱
- The calming heat from the löyly (steam from hot rocks) 💨
- Traditional sounds and phrases 🌌
Held at the picturesque Pyhä Sauna, crafted entirely from natural materials like clay and straw, this sauna features what Nanna refers to as "the Rolls Royce of Finnish wood burning sauna heaters" — the first of its kind in Australia. Perfect for a group of up to seven, participants will not only relax but also learn how to maximize the health benefits of sauna use.
The exact location in South Hobart will be shared with ticket holders prior to the event. Please note that access involves a steep flight of stairs.
This event is a part of the Beaker Street Festival — a celebration blending science, art, and community in Lutruwita/Tasmania.
