Tuesday Jam - A contact improvisation dance jam CCAP

Welcome to the Contact Improvisation (CI) Jam happening every Tuesday during spring 2026, organized by the nonprofit association Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm! 💃✨
Join us for a unique experience where each week, a jam host will manage the space and address practical matters. Expect a blend of structured and self-directed warm-ups, making every session a fresh exploration! Sometimes, the host will suggest a group theme, while other times, you can explore your own flow.
Given the shorter, 2-hour duration, we aim to foster a more intimate atmosphere with two arrival windows: 17:45 and 18:45.

Pricing:

• Members: 50 SEK per jam
• Non-Members: 100 SEK per jam

About Contact Improvisation

Contact Improvisation is a dance art form with intricate layers, focusing on the connection between your movements and those around you. It is a vibrant practice where we navigate physical contact and movement in relation to gravity and sensations. This evolving dance engages reflexes and invites ambivalence in movement. Originating in the experimental postmodern dance scene of the 1970s USA, CI has now captivated diverse communities worldwide. 🌍

About the Jam

This event is open to everyone eager to dance within and out of contact. Whether dancing, observing, or simply being in the space, your participation is welcomed! We emphasize self-care and respect for the improvisational space. Conversations and socializing occur outside the studio; when you need to take a break, please step to the side. Dress comfortably and feel free to dance barefoot! 🕺

Membership

The Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm association was founded in 2025, providing members with affordable opportunities to dance and contribute to our community creatively. Membership options include:

• Full Year Membership: 1000 SEK – Unlimited access to Sunday jams for a year.
• Term Membership: 700 SEK – Access to Sunday jams for one term.
• Support Membership: 200 SEK – For those not residing in Stockholm but who wish to support us (does not include free entry to Sunday jams).
  All membership types offer a discount for the Tuesday jam!
