We're hosting Assoc. Prof. Matthias Samwald (MedUni Wien), one of very few people on the new EU AI Act's new scientific panel, and co-chair of the Safety & Security work behind the EU's Code of Practice for General-Purpose AI: the framework that every AI company must now build on. He leads the Accelerate Europe initiative, and his answer to the european capability gap has a name: aligned acceleration: speed and capability growing together with trust and coordination.

Few people are better placed to explain what the right policy and the right moves are, that would actually take for Europe to matter again in the global AI race.
