With Hasan in Gaza

Renowned Palestinian filmmaker Kamal Aljafari often works with archival footage. In the context of constant confiscation of property and erasure of history, he thus restores to Palestinians the right to decide on their own images. In his latest film, With Hasan in Gaza, Aljafari returns to three MiniDV tapes he shot in Gaza in 2001. What began as a search for a former fellow prisoner turns into an unexpected journey through Gaza with Hasan, a local guide whose fate is unknown today.
