Join us for the 5th Annual Stoneman’s Raid Living History event at The Rowan Museum! 🎉

On April 12, 1865, General Stoneman led a formidable force of Union cavalry into Salisbury, overpowering the Confederate defenders at Grant’s Creek. By 9:30 AM, the town was secured, and the federal troops set about burning supplies and structures that could aid the Confederates, with the exception of the Rowan Courthouse, which was spared due to strong fraternal ties. 🏛️

Following the occupation, these troops aimed to destroy the railroad bridge over the Yadkin River but faced fierce resistance from entrenched Confederate forces on the adjacent hill.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in history!
