Join us for a captivating evening with Pat McCabe, the acclaimed author whose novels explore the heart of small-town Ireland. Though he doesn't call himself a poet, Pat will enchant us with readings of works by esteemed writers like Heaney and Durcan, while sharing tales from his rich life journey from Clones County Monaghan to Dublin, London, and back.
✨ Meet iconic literary figures like Behan and Kavanagh, and listen for a surprise song on the guitar inspired by Elvis!
📚 A twice Booker-nominated writer, McCabe is known for his powerful novels including The Dead School, The Butcher Boy, Breakfast on Pluto, Winterwood, Poguemahone, and Goldengrove. Many of his works have made their way to the big screen, directed by talents like Neil Jordan.
In addition to his novels, he crafts plays for stage and radio, including Little White Lies and the upcoming Wildwood Flower, produced at The Garage Theatre in Monaghan. As a member of Aosdána, he is currently immersed in writing his new novel, Home Entertainment.
🌟 Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the literary magic of one of Ireland’s finest living writers, as described in the New York Times Book Review.
