
Art Class: A Peace of Paper
Join us for a meditative experience in papermaking! 🌿 In this class, you'll learn to transform natural and recycled fibers into beautiful handmade paper. The session includes:
- Processing fibers into pulps
- Sheet forming techniques
- Creating with inclusions like plant materials and fabric scraps
Participants will engage in mindfulness practices while crafting unique paper artworks and enjoy guided slow-looking exercises in the featured exhibition, Body Matters.
Instructor: Kat Martin, an artist and educator from South Carolina, with a BFA in art education from the University of South Carolina. She has received the Ethel S. Brody scholarship and has extended her artistic practice to papermaking at the Penland School of Craft. Kat is passionate about hosting workshops that encourage creative experimentation and expression.
Age Requirement: 15 and up.
Supplies: All materials and equipment are provided.
Pricing: $120 / $96 for members.
