“Two singer-songwriters sit on the edge of a cliff…” This enchanting theatrical concert draws you into the intertwined worlds of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, long-time friends and one-time lovers. Created and performed by the talented duo, Robbie Schaefer and Danielle Wertz, this cabaret-style performance weaves through decades of music, featuring beloved hits such as "A Case of You," "Hallelujah," "Big Yellow Taxi," "Suzanne," and many more.

Both Sides Now not only captures the essence of the 60s and 70s but also resonates with the present, narrating a poignant tale of the complexities of being human. It's about growth, compassion, and the ever-returning connections that define us.

Meet the Artists:

Robbie Schaefer
A rabbi, singer-songwriter, and theatre/film artist, Robbie is the guitarist and songwriter for the indie folk band Eddie From Ohio. With solo releases including the 2023 single Under the Sun, he has shared the stage with notable artists like Jason Mraz and Emmylou Harris. His work Light Years, which explores his relationship with his Holocaust-survivor father, premiered at the Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre in 2018. Currently, Robbie is developing a new musical titled The Blue Poppy and an upcoming album, Songs From The Wilderness.

Danielle Wertz
A storyteller and jazz musician, Danielle has earned acclaim for her ability to interpret ballads masterfully. After being a semi-finalist in the 2015 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocals Competition, she released her debut album Intertwined, which ranked #4 on Capital Bop's list of Best DC Jazz Albums of 2017. Her latest album Other Side showcases her evolution as a composer during the pandemic.
