Join us for a captivating Box Lunch Talk exploring the rich history of Oakland Mills before its transformation due to the Liberty Reservoir project. 🌳

This engaging session features two heartfelt speakers, Elaine McLaughlin and Wallie Meeks, who share personal and family stories about life in Oakland Mills. One speaker grew up there, while the other carries memories passed down from her family. 🌅 Together, they reflect on the closures, the town’s destruction, and the community's way of life that was lost.
The Liberty Reservoir History Group is a dedicated collective of history enthusiasts meeting monthly to document the land’s history and the lives affected by the Liberty Reservoir's construction, completed in 1953.
🍽️ What to Bring: Your lunch! We’ll provide drinks and desserts thanks to our wonderful volunteers and staff.
💲 Cost: $3 for HSCC members | $5 for nonmembers
