About the Project:
"Cloak" transforms the Drive Thru Art Box into an enigmatic creation, enveloped in thick Spanish moss, effectively concealing its original structure. Inside, a vintage wooden rack presents a selection of rocks, leaving their identities a mystery. This artwork delves into themes of veiling and safeguarding, while also highlighting nature's tendency to reclaim human-made environments.

About the Artist:
Blanche Nettles Powers, hailing from Rochester, Minnesota, currently resides in Savannah where her artistry flourishes. Her paintings, assemblages, and mixed-media projects emphasize materiality and processes rooted in improvisation and repetition, drawing inspiration from natural fractal patterns. Her solo exhibitions span prestigious locations, including Laney Contemporary and Kim Foster Gallery, alongside numerous juried exhibitions.

With experience in notable artist residencies, her work has been commissioned by entities like Mercedes-Benz Stadium and is part of various private collections. Powers holds an MFA from SCAD and is represented by Laney Contemporary in Savannah.
