Karl Popper (1902-1994), an Austrian-born philosopher, is renowned for his profound contributions to the philosophy of science. In this text, he presents his compelling idea that science and knowledge evolve through conjectures—proposals that aim to explain existing evidence—and refutations—critical evaluations that expose the limitations of our current theories.

Challenging the views of the Logical Positivists, who believed scientific facts could be verified through repetitive experimentation, Popper makes a strong case that conjectures can never be definitively proven true. Nevertheless, he champions rationality and emphasizes the importance of being open to correcting our errors.
