Join us for an unforgettable day immersed in nature! 🌿 Explore one of Europe’s vital wetland habitats while witnessing the breathtaking crane dance. Enjoy a scenic 19 km hike and visit the renowned visitor centers of the lake.

• First Stop: Naturum Hornborgasjön
  Begin your adventure at the observation tower, offering stunning panoramic views of the lake.
• Next Up: Trandansen
  This popular southern site is where the cranes gather to be fed. It’s the ultimate birdwatching hotspot, with approx. 10,200 cranes currently gracing the lake! 🦩

📍 Plan of the Day

We will assemble at Gothenburg Central Station before boarding the train together. After reaching Falköping, we will utilize "Närtrafik" (on-demand transit) to arrive at the lake.

• 07:36: Train departs from Gothenburg Central.
• 08:52: Arrival at Falköping Resecentrum.
• 09:00-10:00: Närtrafik shuttle to Naturum at "Café Doppingen" Hornborgasjön 2.
• 10:00-11:00: Explore Naturum with its exhibits, bird towers, and hides.
• 11:00: Start our 19 km hike to Trandansen (mostly flat terrain). Enjoy a 5-hour hike, with plenty of birdwatching stops.
• 17:00-18:23: Arrival and time to explore at Trandansen Visitor Center.
• 18:23: Return journey by bus/train (expected arrival back in Gothenburg around 20:23).

• Difficulty: Easy (predominantly flat paths)
• Pace: Relaxed hike with birdwatching breaks
• Group Size: Limited to 8 participants (due to vehicle capacity)

🎒 Essentials to Bring

• Binoculars: A must for birdwatching! (Naturum provides fixed scopes)
• Food & Water: Don’t forget a lunch, snacks, and water—outdoors for at least 7 hours!
