Crochet Pumpkins

Join us for a delightful crochet workshop where you can learn to create your very own pumpkins—perhaps even three!

This class is perfect for those who already grasp the basics of crochet and feel comfortable handling the hook and yarn to crochet stitches. The Crochet Pumpkin Class offers a fantastic chance to build on your existing skills, move beyond the classic Granny Square, and learn a new stitch to craft a beautifully textured piece of crochet.

You can explore creativity with color, making your pumpkins in any hue you like! Coordinate colors for a unique theme or create a more formal display. This is also an excellent chance to utilize leftover wool from past projects or purchase fresh supplies from Sew & Fabric. Together, we'll create pumpkins in three different sizes, with the smallest requiring about 50g of yarn.

What You Will Learn:

• Review of slip knot and chain stitch to set up your foundation row.
• Master half treble and double crochet stitches to develop texture.
• Learn to crochet in rows and how to cast off.
• Tips on calculating the size of your pumpkins.
• Construct your pumpkin using felt and basic stitches, adding charming details like leaves and a stalk.

Included in the Class:

• Personalized tuition in a supportive small group setting for 1:1 help when needed.
• A 4mm Crochet Hook (bring yours if you have one!).
• Basic instructions for creating all three sizes of pumpkins, allowing you to replicate them at home.
• Inspiration sheets for more ideas on your crocheting journey.
• Templates for sizing your pumpkins.
• Selection of felt, threads, and embellishments including fake leaves and ribbons for personalizing.

What to Bring:

• A basic sewing kit (small scissors, pins, hand sewing needle, and a blunt large-eye needle).
• A small bag of toy stuffing (available at Sew & Fabric or reuse from an old cushion).
• Double knit yarn in your chosen colors.
• Your own 4mm Crochet Hook if you have one.
• Note-taking supplies (pen and paper).

Optional:

Feel free to bring any small embellishments you want to personalize your pumpkin, such as small twigs for the stalk, ribbons, or fake flowers.
