Join us for an enthralling performance of Dans (Sverige), choreographed and danced by the talented Frédéric Gies! ✨

This groundbreaking solo work delves into the past through two distinct movements: reflecting on the rich dance materials from Gies’ previous 35 creations since relocating to Sweden, and exploring the echoes of the 1920 piece Maison de Fous (Dråhuset) by Les Ballets Suédois, a pivotal early manifestation of Modernism in Sweden.

As the piece excavates these connections, it critically addresses contemporary themes, resisting the fetishization of national identities and utilizing the figure of the “Fou” as a rebellious force against oppressive power dynamics.
