DJ Romain 'Celebration of life'

We come together to celebrate the life and music of the legendary Underground House DJ producer DJ Romain aka Romain Gowe. Who's Spirit sadly left us after a two year battle with cancer.

Even in passing his music will continue to bring joy and lift our Spirit.

On Thursday the 2nd of April we will be celebrating his life, his music, his soul and spirit, for the love of house music

He leaves a musical legacy that spans 35 years. His life was devoted to making, playing and sharing house music. Over that time spun a web that literally connects the world. As a friend, collaborator and artist and brother, he will be equally missed, remembered and celebrated.

His first release was in 1991 on Strictly Rhythm Records called "Get Your Thang Together" under the Alias EMENAR 1. Romain then went on to release his music on many other labels in the US and Europe. In 2000 Romain started a label with DJ and Producer Jon Cutler called “Metro Trax, which lead to release of the worldwide smash hit “Philly’s Groove”. Produced in collaboration with Danny Krivit the track got major air play on UK’s Radio1 by Danny Rampling. The same year Danny invited DJ Romain to play with him at “The Cross” in London.

Decades of producing and mixing gained DJ Romain a cult-like following, attracting music lovers and supporters everywhere he performs. Most notorious for his choice of underground DJ residencies around the world, focusing in the UK, but including Canada and Japan and his yearly pilgrimage to Miami for WMC.

His seminal hits, Philly Groove, “It's The Spirit” and 68 drums continue to be stand out tracks at any event and every self respecting DJ has a favourite Romain cut in their bag from when they need to rock the crowd.
