Earth Day in Bellevue

🌿 Save the Date! Join us on 19 april 2026 from 12:30 till 15:30 at Bellevue University for an extraordinary Earth Day celebration! This event focuses on sustainability and community efforts that enhance our environment.

💚 Initiatives and Partnerships:

• Bee City USA: Collaborating with groups such as Citi Sprouts, Bellevue Native Plant Society, Milkweed Matters, Pollinator Alliance of the Heartland, and the Bellevue Tree Board.
• Green Schools: Involvement from Bellevue East and West High Schools, Omaha South High School, Bryan High School, Omaha Students for Sustainability, and the Zoo Academy.
• Zero Waste Efforts: The City of Bellevue leads initiatives to increase waste diversion, with recycling rates rising from 7% to 18% since 2015. Upcoming in 2025, a new rollout will enhance residential recycling and composting.
• Composting: Collaborations with Hillside Solutions for lunchroom composting and the Compost Club for residential compost drop-offs.
