🏃‍♂️ Join Us for the 3rd Annual Fort Smith General Darby Challenge! 🎖️

Prepare yourself for a military-inspired ruck march and race that honors the legacy of Fort Smith native General William O. Darby. This event celebrates the enduring friendship between Fort Smith and its Italian sister cities, Cisterna and Nago-Torbole. Participants can choose from 13.1 Half Marathon, 10K, or 5K—you can ruck, run, or walk at your own pace! 💪

✨ Virtual participation is also available, ensuring everyone can take part and be recognized. All finishers will receive medals, with special awards for top performers.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fort Smith Museum of History and the Darby House Organization.

💔 This event not only commemorates General Darby’s sacrifice on April 30, 1945, but also features a Silent Mile along the scenic Arkansas River to honor 93 Arkansans who served in WWII.

🏅 Special tribute will be paid to Master Sergeant Joshua Lloyd Wheeler, a Cherokee Nation member and local hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq.

🗓️ Don’t forget: Darby Days will be taking place on April 26, 2026, featuring family-friendly activities, historical reenactments, military exhibits, and delicious grilled foods! 🎉
