Join us for the Great Train Race, a beloved tradition in Fredericksburg, Virginia, celebrated for over 30 years! 🌟 This remarkable event is one of the largest timed races for kids on the East Coast, giving young runners the unique chance to compete just for them!
Event Details:
🗓 Date: 3 maj 2026
📍 Location: Downtown Fredericksburg, starting near the Fredericksburg Train Station.
Runners will traverse through historic downtown, ending at the Crown Trophy Finish Line at the City Docks. 🎉 Families are welcome to join the fun at the Race Festival located in the commuter lot behind the Train Station, featuring awards, music, vendors, and delicious treats!
Race Categories for Kids Under 18:
- 🏅 1-Mile Express: For ages 6 to 17
- 🏃♂️ 1/2-Mile George Dashington: For ages 10 and under
- 🚶♂️ 1/4-Mile Caboose Run: For ages 5 and under
The Express and George Dashington races will be chip-timed, while the Caboose Run is a fun run and will not be timed.
