Green Wood Shrink Boxes

🌳 Join us for a unique crafting experience!
In this engaging workshop, you'll learn the art of creating your very own wooden containers using green wood for the sides and dry wood for the bottoms. While we call them boxes, many will turn out to be beautifully round!

🛠️ What to Expect:
The process is straightforward:

1. Hollow out a branch.
2. Cut a slot in the bottom of the cylinder.
3. Snap in the bottom piece.

As the green wood dries, it will shrink tightly around the dry bottom, effectively locking it in place. Traditionally, these snug-fitting lids have been perfect for storing salt, spices, and other precious items.

👩‍🏫 No prior experience required!
Though some carving knowledge is helpful, it’s not necessary. We will be using traditional tools throughout the session.
