🎷 The program is highlighted by the world premiere of James Lee III’s Saxophone Concerto, specifically composed for the exceptional Timothy McAllister, renowned as one of the finest saxophonists in the world. This piece is commissioned by McAllister, the son of a NASA engineer, as a tribute to the late Ron McNair—a fellow saxophonist, physicist, and brave astronaut lost in the Challenger disaster. This heartfelt tribute coincides with the 40th anniversary of that tragic mission, celebrating McNair’s remarkable legacy of bravery, ingenuity, and brilliance.

🎶 Opening the concert is Joaquín Rodrigo’s A la busca del más allá (“In Search of the Beyond”), a mesmerizing reflection on the exploration of space.
