Young singer-songwriter Johanela will perform songs from her newly released album Kdo jsi ty with her band. The album, which straddles the genres of alternative pop, singer-songwriter, and indie pop, focuses primarily on the theme of the death of a loved one and coming to terms with a new reality filled with emptiness and pain. At the same time, however, it explores more positive themes such as the power of friendship and accepting who Johanela truly is, thanks to greater honesty with herself and those around her. Before releasing her first album, she collaborated with composer, organist, and Grammy Award winner Ondřej Pivec. Last year, she performed as one of three artists at the Katarzia’s Choice concert held at La Fabrika, and as the opening act for the British band Ider during their Stripped tour across Europe.

Mokipi

Whether through his acoustic guitar playing or his grounding verses about his impressions of grassy plains, Mokipi strives to get as close to nature as possible through purity and simplicity, because he believes there is nothing more important in this world. His older lyrics reflect chaos in his thoughts; the newer ones, a whirlwind of emotions. From desperate ballads to uplifting atmospheric mantras, if you don’t know where to feel safe, in front of Mokipi’s stage is a good place to start.
