These two acclaimed contemporary composers will present a collaborative project titled Tragic Magic, created with the Philharmonie de Paris. With an album releasing in January 2026 via the InFiné label, they promise an evening of seven immersive compositions that explore the depths of human emotion and connection.

Co-produced by Trevor Spencer (Fleet Foxes, Beach House), their project reflects the intimate friendship and creative synergy that has developed through years of touring together. Following their arrival in Paris after wildfires in Los Angeles, Barwick and Lattimore’s sessions are an infusion of improvisation combined with the emotions they carry.

Lattimore’s selection of harps, tracing their evolution from 1728 to 1873, complements Barwick’s choice of iconic analog synthesizers like the Roland JUPITER and Sequential Circuits PROPHET-5.
