It's been six years since La Dispute's last album, Panorama, and they've been busy! With the challenges of the pandemic behind them, they celebrated anniversaries of albums like Wildlife and Rooms of The House, while crafting their latest work, No One Was Driving The Car. Produced entirely by the band, this album was shaped in vibrant locations including Grand Rapids, Detroit, the UK, Australia, and the Philippines. As lead vocalist Jordan Dreyer states, “I think the change in environment was really helpful…”

This new LP, inspired partially by the psychological thriller First Reformed, explores themes of malaise against the backdrop of a tech-advanced world. 📖 The title itself arises from a chilling quote related to a self-driving Tesla collision, signaling our struggle for control in a chaotic existence.

The album consists of fourteen dynamic tracks that wrestle with existential themes, showcasing a raw vocal intensity and sharper guitar sounds. Dreyer reflects on the creative journey noting, “It’s the revelations you make, the breakthroughs…”
